Feel good blogging challenge day 4!

Hello everyone. I cant believe its day 4 already..... (its not really) I have skipped day 3 (for now) I am away at the moment and I'm unable to do a step by step tutorial. I do have an idea in mind of what I want to do but I need to be home in order to do it. SOOO day 3 will be up in a few days.... until then here is day 4, I hope you enjoy. I found it really hard to think of facts about myself.... i don't know why, I just find it hard to talk about myself, anyone else feel that way? I guess that's why this is called a "challenge".

10 things people most likely don't know about me:

1.       I’m a bargain hunter, if I see 10%, 20% or 50% off I'm so there. If I see something I really want to buy ill search at other stores including online to see where I can get it cheapest.

2.       I suffer from chronic fatigue- basically, I'm always tired, I feel lethargic all the time but when I try to sleep I can’t switch my mind off. It took five or so years before I found meditation, every night I lay in bed, listen to the sound of rain and thunder on my iPod and mediate myself to sleep. If you have trouble sleeping I highly recommend doing this. This is the only way I can get those few hours of sleep my body needs to recharge. It has worked wonders for my life.

3.       I love to write stories. When I was in year nine I got 100% on a story I wrote about the movie holes. It was the first time I had ever got 100%. I was so proud of myself and for the first time in my life i thought i was actually good at something.

4.       Ambitious, dreamer, doer, driven, determined, strong-minded, strong-willed: all these a great words to explain me.

5.       My daughter is my absolute world, my best friend, my motivation and my driving force to make me want to succeed.

6.       The first thing I notice about people is there feet/shoes. Number 6.5- I’m weird.

7.       I love the feeling of getting a tattoo, I honestly don’t think it hurts at all, it’s actually kind of…..relaxing.

8.       If I could have any super power I would want to have the power to heel not only if someone was injured or dying but in sickness as well and once I have heeled them they then would have the power too.

9.       When I was ten I wanted to be a spy kid, I wanted to spy on people…… 9.5- I was that weird kid at school.

10.   I want to one day travel around Australia in a kombi van.

Feel good blogging challenge day 2!

“An amazing thing happens when you get honest with yourself and start doing what you love, what makes you happy. Your life literally slows down.  You stop wishing for the weekend. You stop merely looking forward to special events. You begin to live each moment and you start feeling like a human being. You just ride the wave that is life, with this feeling of contentment and joy. You move fluidly, steadily, calm and gracefully. A veil is lifted, and a whole new perspective is born”

This quote is pretty much spot on to how I feel about life. When you stop focusing on all the negative things around you and start to focus on those things that make you happy your life slows down a little bit, you start to realise that there is more to the world than meets the eye.

A few years ago I used to live in this really crappy two bedroom house, it was awful. I couldn’t have my toaster and microwave on at the same time or the power would go out. Quite often I would enjoy a nice cold shower but the worst part of all….…. No Television!

It took less than a year for me to feel extremely unhappy with these living conditions, I felt like everyone else had it better than I did and I couldn’t understand why. It slowly got to the point where I just hated life.

Until one day I couldn’t take it anymore, I was sitting in the lounge room telling myself I couldn’t do this anymore, I needed to change something. I was so sick of being cooped up inside my cold and lonely house so I walked out the back and sat on my veranda.

I turned off my phone and disconnected myself from the world. I sat on the ground and breathed in the fresh air, I needed to have some me time. I needed to let go off all these negative thoughts, I wanted to clear the slate so I could start fresh with positive thinking.

As the sun started to go down the view of dead grass and tiny trees that were miles away started to look kind of pretty.

The sun was almost set when in the distance a kangaroo started to jump towards me, behind were two little baby joeys, behind them was another three kangaroos. The view was amazing.

I had never taken the time to notice these small things around me but now that I have, id fallen in love.

That’s when I become so passionate about nature. When you really sit there and think about it, it’s a remarkable world we live in.

We forget that our planet needs us just as much as we need it. I think sometimes we forget that us humans are not the only living thing on this planet.

This was my biggest driving force when I started Burning Moon; I wanted to create a beautiful candle that wouldn’t be harmful to our amazing planet. I searched for over a year to find the best quality products I could find that were not only high standard but also eco-friendly.

Feel Good Blogging Challenge Day 1

Before we begin you should know this is the third time I have written this, the first two times my computer crashed and deleted both documents, I'm going to try and remember what I wrote but I have the memory of a gold fish so I cant promise you this is going to be any good.

1.Who are you?

My name is Emilee, I’m 20-something years old born and raised in outback Australia.
I'm a small business owner, coffee addict, life enthusiast, environmental activist, Animal lover and most importantly I'm a Mum.

2. Why did you start blogging?

I first started blogging at the age of fifteen as a way to let out anger and frustration. I found it comforting to blog about my struggles online rather than in a diary.

My life has changed drastically since then; I'm now in a much better place in my life. I deleted that blog not long after I turned seventeen and returned to the blogging world a little over a year ago but I found myself blogging about things that I wasn’t truly passionate about. I love make-up and hair and all that beauty jazz but after writing and reviewing products for almost a year I found myself in a rut. I needed a change, I needed to find my passion and change my life.

I now live my life day to day, every morning when I wake up I ask myself “if today was your last day on earth what would you do?” and then I do it. I believe in taking risk. I'm living proof that on the other side of fear is happiness.

3. Who is your blog for?

I want this blog to be a place where you can come and find inspiration. This is a complete stress free zone. Ill share snippets of my life with you along with things I have learnt, from recipes through to over-coming depression. I want to encourage you and motivate you not only to achieve your dreams but to overcome fear and start living the life you have always wanted.

4. What’s something you’ve been working on lately that you’re REALLY proud of?

Lately I have been side tracked by my business; we are currently in the process of creating an online store so we can sell our products worldwide. Burning Moon will be up and running online in less than a month which is completely crazy to me how quick this process is moving along. To wake up every day and I know that I'm one step closer to achieving my dream is one of the best feelings I have ever had.
You can follow our new Instagram account for Burning Moon to keep up to date: instagram.com/shopburningmoon

5.  What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you hope people take away from your blog?

"Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another steppingstone to greatness."
            -Oprah Winfrey

Every step back is a good thing, every time you fail at something it is the universe pushing you closer to what it is you truly want and need. Every time you get knocked down you get a little bit stronger and every time you get back up you get a little bit closer.
